Patient Services
Current clinical services include free medical evaluations, medications,
and laboratory services. Fifteen regular volunteer physicians, with
as many nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants rotate
each week, supplemented by a large referral network of volunteer
physician specialists as well as optometrists and podiatrists, who
graciously see the Clinic's patients without charge. Clinic volunteers
offer not only medical and nursing care, but also social work, Spanish
language interpreting, childcare, and community resource referrals.
Clinic Sessions
Monday
9:30 am - 11 am Daytime Family Practice Clinic
Patients drop in between 9:30am - 11am. Evaluation of minor
medical illnesses, care for minor aches and pains, and medical education
on a wide range of problems. Referrals are provided to free Volunteer
Physician Specialists in our network, Immunization Clinics, Social
Services, Mental Health Services, and Alternative Health Services.
Tuesday
3:00-4:30 pm The Vaccines for Children Program
Vaccines for children and young adults are available for free. A parent must accompany the child (ONLY the parent or legal guardian may sign the consent form). Please bring the yellow immunization card (even if it is from out of the country). Children will be taken on a drop-in basis. Vaccines are also referred to as baby shots, boosters, or immunizations. Adults may be seen on Tuesdays, but it is not guarenteed. Call ahead of time.
Wednesday
9:00 am-12:30 pm, 1:00 pm-5:30 pm Acupuncture Clinic
Patients are scheduled for appointments, and must be referred by one of our Volunteer Medical Providers during the Family Practice Clinics. Students of the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley are the Volunteer Medical Providers, with supervision by their preceptors, Licensed Acupuncturists and Teachers at AIMC.
Thursday
5:30pm-7:30 pm Evening Family Practice Clinic
Patients drop in between 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. Evaluation of minor medical
illnesses, care for minor aches and pains, and medical education
on a wide range of problems. Referrals are provided to free Volunteer
Physician Specialists in our network, Immunization Clinics, Social
Services, Mental Health Services, and Alternative Health Services.
No appointments are needed. It is a drop-in Clinic during the listed
hours.
The Clinic Offers:
- Family Medicine and health consultations
- Treatment for minor health problems

- Medical Information and referrals
The Clinic Does Not Offer
- Gynecological Services: No breast exams, No Mammograms, No obstetrics
(birth control).
- Exams or treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.
- Psychiatric Services
Prescriptions
If you want to refill a prescription or are seeking a prescription
or treatment recommended by a doctor or institution other than this
clinic, we may not be able to help you. We will try to refer you
to another clinic that can offer you those services. No narcotics
are prescribed at JCFC.
